Sustainability Practices

The Costa Calero Hotel is continuously working to improve the impact we have on people and places.

We are committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions as well as protecting and promoting biodiversity. As part of this commitment, we have set a goal to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions from tap water by 50% by the end of August 2026 and our CO₂ footprint from energy by 20% by 2025.

We know that there is still work ahead of us, and since 2025 we have been implementing a number of new initiatives across all our operations to achieve our goal for August 2026.

We encourage our valued guests, employees, and visitors to support us by following the water and energy-saving tips distributed throughout the hotel and to avoid waste as much as possible.

We are proud of the activities we carry out to achieve our goal of reviving native plant species such as the critically endangered Gofio plant, as well as preserving the population of Canary Palms and the gardens dedicated to exclusively native cactus species.

In 2026, we will continue to focus on supporting several sports teams, as we did in 2025, to always promote sports among youth and even support sports teams that address social issues in our society.

The Costa Calero Hotel is committed to respecting and protecting human rights. We believe that everyone should be treated fairly and with respect. As part of this commitment, we regularly train our staff to prevent any form of harassment or discrimination.

We are also committed to protecting the welfare of children and adolescents. Our policy is to report any suspicion of exploitation or abuse of children to the police. We encourage our guests, employees, and visitors to report any suspicion of exploitation or abuse of children at the reception, either by phone at the internal number 9 or in person, so that we can contact the police and assist in reporting these cases.
